FIVE TACTICS THAT WILL MAKE YOUR WORKSPACE MORE COLLABORATIVE

Collaboration is not a space type, it’s an interaction value. Published in Association Now, Here are my 5 tactics for making a work experience the right balance of collaborative work and everything else.

1) SIT TEAMS TOGETHER: Even in unassigned seating make sure to group teams together, allowing for impromptu collaboration throughout the day and for teammates to learn through osmosis

2)OFFER PRIVATE CONVERSATION SPACES: have more small private conversation spaces in ensure good conversations

3) REIMAGINE SOCIAL SPACES: If you can’t change the environment then focus on designing community events in social spaces

4)USE FLEXIBLE FURNITURE: Tables and chairs on wheels sends the signal that we trust you to arrange the space for your needs

5)KEEP ROOM FOR INDIVIDUAL SPACES: If you don’t want to subject employees to collaborative overload, give them a destination space for deep work so they can feel refreshed for the next team meeting
